πŸ“£πŸš¨ STEM Conference Organizers Alert: We are Watching.

While the world has been focused on the global pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement, event organizers continue to leave women, and especially Black women, out of their speaker lineups, which is unacceptable at all times.

First up, we have the speaker lineup for CB Insights Tech Conference, which was sent to us by one of our faves, Bobbie Carlton. Curious about β€œwhat’s next in tech”? Tune in to hear these 54 guys tell you what’s up. While there are some women speaking, 11 women, just two of whom are women of color, out of 65 speakers (17%) is far from acceptable.

Use the GA Tally to demonstrate the presence of women of color, or lack thereof, in all conversations.

Next, this promotion from TUM professor Matthias Niessner proudly brags about the eight CVPR papers from the TUM Visual Computing Lab and their collaborators. The papers are an element of the β€œpremier annual computer vision event”, CVPR 2020. ManelWatchUS articulates our thoughts perfectly.

Make no mistake, conference organizers. The GenderAvenger community is still watching and counting and speaking out. We know, and you know, that you can do better.

Spread the word, because it’s time to show up.

β€ͺπŸ“£πŸš¨ πŸ“£πŸš¨ These 2 conferences by @CVPR and @CBinsights do not include enough women speakers, and the @GenderAvenger community is not letting it slide.
