Action Alert | Who's "Improving Healthcare Decisions" at ISPOR 2019? Men!

We love hearing from conference attendees in real time as they see manels up on stage. Members of the GenderAvenger community are at ISPOR 2019 this week, and they're not happy about what they’re seeing.

Tweets like this prompted us to take a look at the speaker list for ISPOR 2019, and in a shocking surprise to no one, women are being excluded from “improving healthcare decisions,” ISPOR’s apparent motto.

It goes without saying that more women need to be included in the improvement of healthcare and the decision-making that allows that to happen. It seems like a conference “recognized globally as the leading educational and scientific organization for health economics and outcomes research” would be a good place to start.

There are too many men speaking at @ispororg’s #ISPORAnnual and attendees are taking notice, because when women are not included in decisions that improve #healthcare, it’s a bitter pill to swallow. #GenderAvenger https://www.genderavenger.com/blog/ispor-2019
