📣🚨 A Tale of Two Speaker Lists: The Wonderful (Washington Post Live) and the Ugly (Unreal Fest Online)

Washington Post Live Lineup: When It’s Good, It’s Good

Take a look at the Washington Post Live lineup for June 23 to June 30. Sessions covering the front line concerns of veterans, race in America, and maternal health, among others, will be delivered by a well-balanced, Gold GA Stamp of Approval-worthy group of women and men — the speakers are 33% men and 67% women, 56% of whom are women of color.

We’re pleased to see that the organizers of Washington Post Live have stepped up their game since the last time we featured them.

Unreal Fest Online: Time to Get Real About Gender Equality

Unreal Engine, the company behind the uber-popular video game Fortnight, recently released its list of fellows… and “fellow” is the correct word.

Out of 15 virtual production fellows, 14 of them are men. That’s 93%. The featured speakers list for their July 14 Unreal Fest Online is following suit — 12 speakers, and 11 of them are men. That’s 92%.

OMG, Unreal Engine, there is no excuse for this. Get it together and start including women somewhere, anywhere, everywhere!

Spread the word!

📣🚨 We’re thrilled about the improvement in the @postlive lineups, and appalled at @UnrealEngine’s complete disregard for women. This week’s @GenderAvenger #ActionAlert is a doozy! #PostLive #UnrealFest #GenderAvenger https://www.genderavenger.com/blog/excellent-washington-post-live-ugly-unreal-fest-online
