📣🚨 Action Alert | Another Week, Another FinTech Fail. Thanks, LA Venture Association

Thank you to GenderAvenger Samantha Ettus for letting us know about the all-white manel speaking at LA Venture Association’s “LA: A Fintech Hub” presentation today. We second her query: how is it that we are still talking about all-white manels in 2021? It’s clear that the financial tech industry in particular has a lot of work to do when it comes to gender parity, and we intend to keep demanding action.

Last week, we told you about the abysmal numbers at the MIT FinTech Conference, and you got to work sharing on social media. We're happy they responded, and the percentage of women on their speaker list has inched up from 18% to 22%, as of last count. With 17 days to go, we will hopefully see even more women added. The GenderAvenger community is making this happen, and for that we are both grateful and proud of the work you do to make sure women’s voices are at the table.
