Action Alert | Finally, a Speaker List for Women!

Are you having issues finding women speakers for your conferences? Do you personally feel like you are a qualified speaker in your field, but find that only the voices of men are heard? Enter Women Speakers List, a crowdsourced list of women speakers.

When you first open the page, you will see a map with numbers popping up in different countries. These numbers represent the women that have been nominated as speakers. As you zoom in more, you can find more specific locations, helping you find women for your conferences or connect with those in a similar position to you.

This tool allows you to nominate a woman you know, or even yourself if you are a woman, to be a speaker. In order to do so, visit the link embedded above and click the yellow plus sign at the bottom left hand corner of the page or just use this link

Be careful when using this! The zoom in feature allows you to find very specific locations, so remember to be cautious and disclose an address that isn’t your home address!

Light the Flame with Inspiring Reads

How can we challenge ideas about gender and expertise so that women can claim their place at the table, take their time at the mic, or rise to power and influence? We hope this week’s reads empower and inspire your advocacy.

  • The data shows that 78% of women in tech feel they have to work harder than their male coworkers. Organizations that include women’s voices in the workplace have higher success rates.
