📣🚨 Action Alert | Another Swing and a Miss for Moz at MozCon Virtual 2021

It’s almost time for MozCon again. GenderAvenger has been keeping an eye on speakers for MozCon Virtual 2021, which promises to deliver “insights and tactical presentations from industry leaders in SEO, search marketing, mobile, conversion optimization, local search, and more”.

Back in 2016, they boasted about having 58% women speakers. In 2020, they missed the mark with too few women of color at just 10% of all speakers. So, how does 2021 look? Close… but not quite. Of 33 total speakers, 15 are women, and only 4 of those women are women of color.

Since the 2021 MozCon is less than a week away, we don’t expect these numbers to change, but we have high hopes for a stellar, inclusive lineup in 2022. It takes deliberate action, and MozCon doesn’t have much further to go to achieve a GA Stamp of Approval in the future. We’ll be watching!

#MozCon Virtual 2021’s speaker lineup is so close to a @GenderAvenger Stamp of Approval, but it misses the mark on gender balance for a second year in a row. We’ll be watching and waiting for @Moz to close the gap in 2022. #GenderAvenger https://www.genderavenger.com/blog/action-alert-another-swing-and-a-miss-for-mozcon
