📣🚨 ACT NOW | Washington Post Live: 3 Days and Not a Woman In Sight

We almost couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw this email listing of the May 19–21, 2020 Washington Post Live sessions, but there it is, plain and simple: three sessions all dominated by men. Over the three days, there’s a hotel CEO, a governor and a mayor, and a national political reporter and an economic advisor, followed up by two other men in the final session, but not one woman.

Whoa. So many men! There is no situation in which this should happen. There are plenty of women whose expertise and experience would improve upon and expand the point of view of each of these sessions. You should be ashamed of yourselves, Washington Post.

Thank you to GenderAvenger Mary Leonard for sharing this with us. She already sent The Washington Post an angry email but thought a broader audience needed to hear about this, and we agree completely.

The Washington Post needs to hear that this is unacceptable:

📣🚨 The @washingtonpost’s @postlive should be ashamed of itself for putting together this 3-day #manel. 3 sessions, 7 men, and not a woman in sight. There is no reason this should happen… ever. #postlive #GenderAvenger https://www.genderavenger.com/blog/act-now-washington-post-live
